    Dunc Wilson

    Ahhhhhhhhhhh...the memories

The Pretzel Mask just like the one Ken Dryden started out with. Scarier looking than the mask they chose to place on 'Jason's' head I think. Looks more like a 'Hannibal' mask if you ask me

oh....and notice in the background no 'Starbuck's' ad

    Doug Favell

This picture of Doug Favell was taken in the mid '70's. In my opinion, it was a time when hockey was actually exciting to watch and there were no advertisements on the ice rink boards to distract and take away from the uniforms. The most I ever saw painted on the ice at 'Maple Leaf Gardens' besides the required lines for playing the game were the 'Leaf' logo and 'Seasons Greetings' or 'The United Way' advertisements. I really lost interest in the 1980's for hockey later to regain it in the 90's as the Leafs actually became competitive again. But at the moment the 'NHL' is out of business and to tell you the truth I could care less. I have my memories from when I was a child watching my favourite team and it seems like yesterday . I played ice and street hockey since shortly after I could walk and I really miss those days.

    Hockey Night in Canada

    "Hockey Night In Canada Theme"
was written in 1968 by Dolores Claman. It has become one of the longest running theme songs in broadcasting history.

Born in Vancouver, B.C., Dolores received a graduate scholarship to the world renowned Juilliard School of Music in New York. Dolores went on to enjoy a prolific career in composing for advertising, television, film and theatre. In 1967, Dolores co-wrote yet another memorable song: "A Place to Stand (Ontari-ari-ario)"  for the Ontario provincial government's Canada centennial project and the Oscar-winning film, "A Place to Stand".
